Excel Me Activates a new Community Coach Standard

Excel Me Apprenticeships has expanded its End-Point Assessment offering this month by adding the Level 2 Community Activator Coach to its approved standards portfolio.

The Level 2 Community Activator Coach has been developed to underpin occupations such as an Activator, Sports Coach, Activity Leader, Community Worker or Outreach Officer. These roles are predominantly employed by sport for social change charities; SMEs who operate in the sport and physical activity sector; local authorities; sports clubs; leisure centres; youth work agencies; housing associations and outdoor education centres and are deployed to primarily work with inactive groups of people.

Zac Cheek, Excel Me’s Head of Apprenticeships said:

“Community wellbeing and promoting healthy lifestyles is a key strategy for organisations involved in public service and physical activity, with many providing a ‘mega’ mix of fun, inclusive and engaging activities for people, especially for those who are young, inactive, or from low-income and marginalised communities. Roles are becoming increasing prevalent in the private sector too, as part of their CSR policies.

Therefore, the Level 2 Community Activator Coach is the perfect apprenticeship standard for employers who want community-outreach personnel to be more than activity and sports leaders, as they will be equipped with the specialist knowledge of how to work and engage with communities and customers,” confirmed Zac.

“When competent they will be experienced working with a range of different communities and all kinds of customers who are likely to be defined as inactive, sedentary or not doing enough physical activity in their lives. They will also know how to make communities and lives better through physical activity, organised play and sport.

In addition to the Level 2 Community Activator Coach, Excel Me is also approved by Ofqual to deliver End-Point Assessments for the Level 2 Leisure Team Member, Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner, Level 3 Customer Service Specialist, Level 3 Business Administrator, Level 3 Team Leader or Supervisor and Level 5 Operations Departmental Manager apprenticeships.
